I mix with the Greatest...I mix with God.

As I write this, I'm sitting in the hairdressers having a much deserved hair cut. I've just been asked if I'm heading out at the weekend and have been handed a pile of magazines I flick through. Glancing through these made me realise how much my life has changed since I became Christian three years ago.

I'm now oblivious to who the current celebs are, what the fashion trends are, what the longest lasting make up is and whats the current number one! These are things I used to pay attention to, and which I used to see as being the greatest. But in the last three years God has blessed me with a greater purpose and a greater focus...He has raised my expectancy of what it means to live life to the fullest.

Lately, God has been putting those who don't know Him on my heart. He's pushing me to evangelise through my words and actions to the people around me. Having friends and family around me who have yet to experience God's presence, promise and power suddenly takes on a different perspective- I'm excited to my core. God has blessed me with my friends and family, and the others around me, to demonstrate His nature to them.

I've been reminded of John 15;

" This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I'm no longer calling you servants because servants don't understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I've named you friends because I've let you in on everything I've heard from the Father...
 You didn't choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won't spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you...
But remember the root command: Love one another. "

I am in this world to impact it, to mix with God, and then to mix Him with others! I may not be 'of' the world, but I can't, and I won't, be ignorant to the fact that I AM 'in' it! This may mean that I need to be more intentional at discovering what's current in order to be relevant, and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone...like Jesus did!

Somebody told me lately that when they read or listen to the 'greatest' in today's culture, the music the magazines, the books...they make a choice to receive, reject and redeem. They receive what is consistent with God's truth, reject that which isn't and redeem God's goodness which is found somewhere in EVERYONE who is created in God's image.

We can't for a second think His fullness is only for those who know Him, or forget He's planted potential in EVERYONE he has created. Let's be the salt and the light which impacts others, in a way that makes them shiver with excitement and curiosity, I've seen this happen recently... and I believe I'm going to see others transformed by Jesus in the way I have been!
