Yesterday I used some verses from Romans 6 in a message called "one way love" from our This is Love series. They are amazing. There is a problem in our belief about how God loves us. We understand that God saves us when we are far from Him but then afterwards many of us have found ourselves in a position of earning His love , His favour, His blessing. Like the tide coming in & out, many of us believe that God's commitment to us does the same thing in line with our thoughts, words & deeds.
Let this truth fill your mind this week - But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life Romans 6: 8-10
Paul says it twice - Much more then - He is reinforcing a profound truth - If Jesus was able to step into your world when you were at your worst, without any pre-condition placed upon you, how much more now that you are adopted into His family will His goodness, love & favour be available to you.
The old religious lie that once we are saved we should automatically know better, live better and change overnight is a fallacy. Relax and know today that there is Much more then of Gods life for you today - independent of your performance in any way.
One way love - from your Father to you. Never stops, Never fails. Never runs out. Never conditional.
