For God made Christ who never sinned to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Cor 5:21
From a young age we quickly learn what it's like to get things right or wrong. As a former teacher I saw the negative effect that getting work wrong had on a child. How they lost confidence in themselves. Even seeing red markings on a page or a cross instead of a tick can over time send a message to a child that they've failed.
Being right with God is an inbuilt desire in us all. We have been made that way because God has put in all of us the need for intimacy with our Heavenly Father. We all need his approval whether we admit it or not.
Being able to live to his Holy standard without messing up and hurting ourselves and others is an impossible task for everyone. But God who is rich in mercy has never set us up to fail.
He understands all of our frailties and went ahead to provide the solution for us.
The Exchange at the cross is so powerful and profound. All of man's wrongdoing for all time paid for by the one man who was perfect. God's very own son. This is the depth of the love, commitment and devotion the Father feels towards you! No longer will you need to question your performance. Are you good enough? Have you got it right? Do you meet the mark? Instead you can approach the Lord with complete confidence that He is good. He is perfect. He has set the record straight. Your life is hidden in Christ and you can now enjoy his favour.
