"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Prov 3:5-6

One of the starting points for gaining wisdom is to realise that you don’t know all the answers. We need to realise that our understanding is never complete and, at any given time, our perspective is limited by our experience. As a result it is necessary to look outside ourselves for direction and guidance.

Making the right decisions in life not only relies on having as much information as possible but upon whom we look to for direction. Wisdom starts outside ourselves - it is first and foremost found in the One who knows all things, whose perspective is never limited and in Him who knows the end from the beginning.

Your Father in heaven loves you and knows your limitations, all He asks is that you submit to Him in everything - in all your ways - and He has promised to lead you to a place of blessing and peace.

We are reminded in this verse to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart”, rely on Him, expectantly wait on Him with everything we have. What decisions or circumstances are you facing today? Do not depend on your own ability to find the way through - look to God and He will make the way clear before you.
