"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits" Psalm 103:2
God never asks us to do anything that will harm us or place a heavy burden on our shoulders. As a loving Father his heart towards us is always to encourage and bring us into greater measures of freedom and life.
When the psalmist exhorts us to bless the Lord it is not an order that must be obeyed or else we will face a penalty. It's an invitation to enter into a beautiful communion with a devoted Father. In doing so we are connected to the angelic realm where joy and peace and thankfulness abound.
Our creator God knows how we will reign in life. It is his desire that we prosper and enjoy the time we have on this earth. There is so much he wants to share with us. So many people, places, situations and experiences he has planned for us. But often in order for us to receive all of those incredible blessings we must first appreciate his hand on our lives everyday.
As we see the handprint of the Father leading and guiding us we learn to turn our hearts to praise. When this happens a greater expectancy will grow in our lives to believe and receive all that he has in store for us.
This week we are going to look at the many benefits Jesus has made available to us through his death and resurrection. As we take time to meditate and give thanks for his incredible grace we will effortlessly be expanding our hearts and minds to perceive the new things that Jesus is doing in us.
