When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch." Luke 5:4
Sometimes whenever God asks us to do something it may seem like the last thing that you feel like doing. In this verse Jesus comes along to skilled fishermen, who have been working all through the night, and asks them to cast their nets again. At this point in the story all their skill and hard work had not brought about any fruit into their situation.
However when they do what Jesus asks them on this occasion they take in such a huge catch of fish that the boat nearly sinks. The lesson for today is clear - you may have been doing your best - in a relationship, in work, with church, with your family and feeling like you are getting nowhere. You may have felt like giving up but Jesus is coming to you today and saying try again - don't stop. Keep loving, forgiving & serving and watch what I will do in response.
Whenever you respond to Jesus, despite what you are feeling or seeing, there will such a huge return that will amaze you. The key is to do today what He tells you to do and leave the results to Him!
