We love grace. That is why Exchange Church exists today. There are certain values that mark this community out and this month we want to encourage you with the 4 pillars of this grace church. The days of striving to please God are finished. He loves you without condition and through Jesus has made you perfect. We want to connect this world with Jesus so they know Him & His perfect love.
07.06.15 Godly character comes through grace
This month we are looking at why we believe that God has placed us at Exchange for such a time as this. This week Andrew looks at Character being one of the pillars of our culture. We believe in Godliness & holiness. But we believe it is the gift of God that we receive by faith and not through work. Righteous by grace through faith. Grace transforms you effortlessly and where the law is powerless to help us change, God's grace imparts His Holiness to us. Learn to flow to His righteousness!
14.06.15 Grace is a community of believers
The most powerful preachers are those who speak from a place of journey & experience. Not theory or pretending, but having walked a path that they can share the lessons learned. Penny Toogood this week talks from that place of why we believe in community in the church and despite pain & hurt that has been walked through we are a church that wants to see a community living in the grace & love of God. The power of God's grace to heal us and empower us provides something completely different to what the world knows and even what our experience of church may have been. If you want to be encouraged about grace in a community then this will bless you!
21.06.15 Charismatic - Not Chariscrazy 28.06.15 The creative force of grace
Grace is made alive through the Spirit of Grace, the Holy Spirit. For many people the word charismatic is code for some of the more "crazy" & "alternative" streams of the church. Is that a true reflection? What does biblical "charismatic" look like? The English term charisma is from the Greek χάρισμα (khárisma), which means "favor freely given" or "gift of grace”. Charismatic Christians are those that receive the Holy Spirit & every day receive God's gift of grace - unearned, unmerited favour. Learn today how you can flow in the Spirit of Grace & love & how He imparts grace to you at your worst moments.
What would you do differently if you simply did not care what other people thought of you or what you were doing? What risks would you take? What dreams would you pursue? Do you constantly compare yourself against the sanitised simulated worlds we see on Facebook & Instagram? We are a creative church. That does not mean that we all write poetry and draw stuff. It means that when we are so preoccupied with what Jesus says about us that we want to please Him first by allowing our lives to reflect, in whatever we do, the grace & love that we have found. That is grace. That is being creative and as we do then the world see's the greatness of God's love. This is a profound talk that will inspire you!
