Most of us have had things happen to us that we did not want or expect to happen. Life throws us detours all the time. These events can either destroy us or can be a springboard for discovering the purpose of God for our lives. Andrew looks at what we need to resolve in order to make we stay on track and receive all that God has for us, both personally & corporately. This week is about being in the presence of God - in that place we are healed, restored, rebuilt, encouraged & we find hope, love & deliverance. Andrew lays out that Exchange is a church where we want men & women to encounter the presence of Jesus in love & power. In that place of encounter they are changed.
19.01.14 - Part 2 - Jesus at the Centre
Do you often feel like you do not know why things happen in your life and is God there? Often we feel the prompting of God on our lives but we do not follow through or we give up because we cannot see the bigger picture of what God is knitting together in our lives. The issue is Gods perspective is so much different than ours. In this talk Andrew looks at an incredible shadow of the cross found in the journey of the children of Israel. God told them to literally have Him and His presence at the centre of everything. When you see why you will be amazed at what God was doing even though they would not have seen it. 26.01.14 - Part 3 - Standing on God's Promises
This is a time for us to understand that the only thing that we can stand on are the promises that God speaks over our lives though the work of Jesus. Only people of promise will see the fullness of God - people who take on life despite the challenges that come their way. Andrew looks at the story of Goliath and shows how the biggest issue facing us today is judgement - when we have a heart that has not been freed by grace and love then bitterness, criticism and judgement means that totally limit God in our lives. Live free by living in Gods Promises.

In our lives we can face many difficult issues and wonder how on earth they can be resolved or overcome. In this message based on Ezekiel 37:1-14, we learn that there is no situation that is hopeless to God and that, as His people, He will never abandon us. But more than this, we discover that through the indwelling power of His Spirit, God seeks to restore and encourage us to live life to the full, expectantly waiting on Him to achieve the impossible on our behalf.
09.02.14 - Part 5 - Growing in God's Promises
Do you ever trust God for something in your life only to be disappointed? What happens to your faith when that happens time & time again? David's defeat of Goliath was part of a process where he learned to grow in the promise that God had spoken over his life. We need to do the same and todays talk shows us the simple steps that involves. We often take on "stuff" from others that although meant with the best of intention will only ever hinder us. David was centred on the promise of God and if you learn to be too you will see progress and increasing breakthrough.

Marilyn and Vernon share their testimony of Gods goodness and healing in their lives. In 1978 Vernon was diagnosed with cancer and Marilyn was told to expect the worst. There are times in life when we can struggle to see Gods plans and promises manifest, in these times it is easy to let your self feel fearful or unbelief in God. It is the enemies plan to contaminate our faith with thoughts or failure, fear and unbelief. In these times it is standing strong on Gods good promises and Jesus finished work on the cross that will carry us through. Gary McKibben talks about how we keep our minds and spirits focused on the goodness of God and the promises he has spoken over our lives!
